After the huge success of our 2017 Golf day we couldn’t wait to entertain our members and suppliers again this year. Our Charity Golf Day was once more held at the Glenvista Country Club on the 4th of October 2018. R20 000 was raised for Dignity Dreams – THANK YOU!

The morning started off with a breakfast and Natcom feedback session in the Pool Room at the Country Club. The Essential staff members set up our branding during this time and got started on registering the suppliers and members that were to attend the day. Each golfer received a goody bag containing an Essential Golf Shirt (that we custom designed for the day), a golf cap, a cold snappy towel and various marketing contributions from our sponsoring suppliers.

At 11am everyone teed off with a full course of 144 players on a shotgun start. The course was played with a four-ball alliance, two scores to count. The alliances were a mix of suppliers, members and Essential staff. Once again we had some “serious” players, who concentrated on their game and at the other end ofthe scale, other players that were out to have as much fun as possible… and they did! We would loveto know how many balls were lost on the day?

All 18 holes were sponsored and each supplier brought something to the table … give-aways, snacks & quirky games to play with shots as penalties or reward. Thank you so much to our suppliers who sponsored holes:- PPC, Ruwag, Agrinet, Plascon, Promac, Eurolux, Abe, Skillcraft, Incledon, Excelsior, A Shak, Woodock, Protek, Sephaku, Vermont, Eureka, Kwikbuild, Prodist. The four balls were sponsored by Timbalock, Roco, Lasher, Vulcania, Academy, Plusten, Real People, Everite, Karcher, Paul Beyvel, S A Lock, Sika and Marley Pipes. We thank them all and appreciate all the prizes donated for the players.

Each participating player took home a prize at the end of the evening. First prize was 4 TV’s sponsored by PPC and 4 Black & Decker Grinders from Plusten. The last prize, that caused much mirth… were toilet cleaning sets with toilet rolls, sponsored by Hamiltons. Additional lucky draws were held, so some players were really lucky on the day.

From comment and feedback, we believe the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we look forward to our next Charity Golf Day and seeing you all there.

Dignity Dreams was the overall winner – R20 000 was donated to their worthy cause.
